About the Role
We are seeking an experienced ETCS Requirements Manager to support delivery within the ETCS Sector 1 North Project.
Role Overview
The ETCS Requirements Manager is responsible for managing requirements across the S1N ETCS L2 project, ensuring requirements are defined, maintained, traceable, and aligned with project objectives and system integration outcomes.
The key objective of the Systems Integration team is to ensure safe deployment of ETCS L2 on schedule.
The ETCS Requirements Manager roles and responsibilities are expected to evolve as the Systems Integration activities are progressively defined.
Key Responsibilities
Core scope for this role will include, but will not be limited to:
Build upon and manage the Requirements Management Plan, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder needs.
Configure and administer the requirements management tool to support requirements management and traceability.
Ensure requirements are appropriately allocated to the correct packages, breaking them into manageable parts while maintaining alignment with the overall project objectives.
Oversee the verification and validation (V&V) process, ensuring that results are summarised and integrated into a cohesive, project-wide view.
Provide training and capability uplift across the project to ensure consistent application of requirements management processes.
Support the integration of requirements into design, testing, and assurance activities, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Support the reporting of requirements to demonstrate benefits realisation and achievement of Project Sponsor Requirements as the project progresses.
Work closely across other functional and package delivery teams, with a strong focus on collaboration and a solution focused ‘best for program’ approach.
Capture and share learnings where required to improve TMR’s capacity and capability to undertake systems integration across the rail program.
Develop reports and presentations as required to support project governance activities and ensure that the project meets other reporting requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Reports to the Director, ETCS Systems Integration
Interfaces with Systems Integration team, ETCS/DRS vendors, Systems Integrator, Queensland Rail, and broader project stakeholders.
To ensure consistency across TMR's rail delivery and major projects portfolio, the role of ETCS Requirements Manager will be required to assist and collaborate with The Wave project, B2N Project, Queensland Rail, Sequence Alliance, and other project teams within TMR from time-to-time.
Shared lessons learned between projects (where appropriate) will be an important element of this role – ensuring a consistent approach to delivery across TMR's program. As a result, flexibility and a highly collaborative and respectful work style are key skills required for this role.
Role Requirements
10+ years’ experience in requirements management on major infrastructure projects.
Expertise in IBM DOORS Next / ELM.
Strong knowledge of lifecycle requirements and Verification & Validation (V&V) processes.
Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
Ability to expand requirements management beyond the rail environment to encompass requirements for other key stakeholders and returned works owners.
Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to align configuration management activities with project objectives and delivery milestones.
