About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Package Director – Trackside Solution to lead delivery of ETCS Level 2 trackside systems within the ETCS Sector 1 North Project.
This is a senior Delivery Role responsible for leading integration, technical planning and delivery of trackside systems aligned to system-level testing and commissioning outcomes.
Role Overview
You will be accountable for delivering the S1N ETCS Level 2 Trackside Solution packages, including Trackside solution development, Trackside solution integration, Technical Planning, State Laboratory, TMS / PMS expansion and ensuring outputs are ready for system level testing and commissioning on-time, within budget and in alignment with SI, ETCS/DRS vendors, Sequence Alliance, and QR stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Leading and overseeing project management, technical, commercial and contractual inputs to achieve target program.
Provide transparent, executive-level status, risk and decision reporting.
Provide leadership over vendor contract management, ensuring suppliers deliver to agreed technical, schedule, safety and commercial obligations.
Oversee ETCS contract management forums, performance reviews, commercial negotiations, change control, and escalation pathways.
Influence "best-for-program" outcomes and behaviours across the ETCS L2 program.
Lead development of future ETCS deployment packages including scoping, vendor engagement and delivery.
Ensure delivery of State Laboratory and Trackside Solution including all interfaces (DRS, TMS, PMS, signalling).
Ensure commercial frameworks reinforce integration behaviours and deliverables (PCA, interface agreements).
Coordinate subsystem testing and commissioning with Queensland Rail and delivery partners.
Establish and maintain Interface Management Plan and interface registers aligned with configuration baselines and assurance gates.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
You will report to the S1N ETCS Project Director.
You will interface with Package Director (Greenfield Signalling), Package Director (Brownfield Signalling), Project Manager (ETCS/DRS Solution), Project Manager (Trackside Interfaces), Project Manager (Technical Planning), ETCS Systems Integration, Technical Advisors, Queensland Rail, Sequence Alliance, Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, key stakeholders and delivery partners.
To ensure consistency across TMR's rail delivery and major projects portfolio, the role will be required to assist, provide advice and collaborate with The Wave project, B2N Project, Queensland Rail, Sequence Alliance, Cross River Rail Delivery Authority and other project teams within TMR from time-to-time.
Shared lessons learned between projects (where appropriate) will be an important element of this role – ensuring a consistent approach to delivery across TMR's program. As a result, flexibility and a highly collaborative and respectful work style are key skills required for this role.
About You
10+ years’ relevant demonstrated experience in related roles overseeing major rail infrastructure projects valued at more than $250 million
Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Strong technical knowledge of rail systems, signalling and ETCS
Strong commercial, contractual and delivery leadership capability
