About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Technical Planning to support delivery within the ETCS Sector 1 North Project.
Role Overview
The Project Manager, Technical Planning is responsible for coordinating integrated technical planning activities across the ETCS Sector 1 North Project, including design reviews, approvals, certification and assurance activities, ensuring alignment with delivery milestones and readiness for system level testing and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Core scope for this role will include, but will not be limited to:
Build and maintain the integrated plan for design reviews, certification, ISA, type approvals and competency assessments aligned to master schedule milestones.
Orchestrate artefact production and review (requirements, engineering, safety, T&C evidence) workflow across multiple stakeholders with clear entry/exit criteria.
Identify/mitigate risks to plan adherence early, drive resourcing and decisions to avoid technical-debt accrual.
Manage day-to-day vendor contract performance, ensuring clarity of scope, timely delivery of contractual obligations, and alignment of vendor activities with program priorities.
Coordinate issue resolution, change requests, acceptance of deliverables, and engagement with TMR / QR commercial teams where required.
Provide transparent, executive-level status, risk and decision reporting.
Align with interface and configuration controls and assurance gates.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
You will report to the Package Director, Trackside Solution.
You will interface with Project Manager (ETCS/DRS Solution), Project Manager (Trackside Interfaces), ETCS Systems Integration, Technical Advisors, Queensland Rail, key stakeholders and delivery partners.
To ensure consistency across TMR's rail delivery and major projects portfolio, the role will be required to assist, provide advice and collaborate with The Wave project, B2N Project, Queensland Rail, Sequence Alliance, Cross River Rail Delivery Authority and other project teams within TMR from time-to-time.
Shared lessons learned between projects (where appropriate) will be an important element of this role – ensuring a consistent approach to delivery across TMR's program. As a result, flexibility and a highly collaborative and respectful work style are key skills required for this role.
About You
5+ years relevant demonstrated experience working in technical / engineering teams to deliver signalling and or rail systems projects in support of major rail infrastructure projects
Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Strong technical knowledge of rail systems, signalling and ETCS
