About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Trackside Interfaces to support delivery within the ETCS Sector 1 North Project.
Role Overview
The Project Manager, Trackside Interfaces is responsible for managing the trackside interfaces with TMR’s existing ETCS L2 system including the expansion of TMS / PMS across the ETCS L2 deployment areas, and readiness of the State Laboratory, ready for system level testing and commissioning on-time, within budget and in alignment with SI, ETCS/DRS vendors, Sequence Alliance, and QR stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Core scope for this role will include, but will not be limited to:
Plan, execute and control the delivery, testing and commissioning required for the State Laboratory and the expansion / interface suite with Sequence Alliance TMS, PMS, and other existing systems as required to enable ETCS L2 on S1N.
Facilitate interface definition and resolution workshops and drive closure of cross-discipline issues in conjunction with the ETCS Systems Integrator.
Manage day-to-day vendor contract performance, ensuring clarity of scope, timely delivery of contractual obligations, and alignment of vendor activities with program priorities.
Coordinate issue resolution, change requests, acceptance of deliverables, and engagement with TMR / QR commercial teams where required.
Provide transparent, executive-level status, risk and decision reporting
Align with interface and configuration controls and assurance gates; ensure high-quality test evidence for gate submissions.
Proactively coordinate risks, issues, defects and changes with the ETCS Systems Integrator.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
You will report to the Package Director, Trackside Solution.
You will interface with Project Manager (ETCS/DRS Solution), Project Manager (Technical Planning), ETCS Systems Integration, Technical Advisors, Queensland Rail, Sequence Alliance, key stakeholders and delivery partners.
To ensure consistency across TMR's rail delivery and major projects portfolio, the role will be required to assist, provide advice and collaborate with The Wave project, B2N Project, Queensland Rail, Sequence Alliance, Cross River Rail Delivery Authority and other project teams within TMR from time-to-time.
Shared lessons learned between projects (where appropriate) will be an important element of this role – ensuring a consistent approach to delivery across TMR's program. As a result, flexibility and a highly collaborative and respectful work style are key skills required for this role.
About You
5+ years relevant demonstrated experience working in technical / engineering teams to deliver signalling and or rail systems projects in support of major rail infrastructure projects
Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
Strong technical knowledge of rail systems, signalling, ETCS, Traffic Management Systems (desirable)
